Deletes cookies - Some Web sites store information in small text files on your computer. These files are called cookies. Cookies are privacy threat because they can contain sensitive information like your name and password for web mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. Even if the cookies don’t contain such information they clearly show that you visited the sites from which they came. Of course they have some advantages: you don’t need to enter you user information every time when you visit a site that needs your user profile.

Deletes history - Browse history records. Internet Explorer and Windows remember all pages that you visit on the Internet and even some folders on your own PC under the name browse history. Turning on this option cleans the browse history when a cleaning occurs. Selecting this option also cleans and shreds the content of the index.dat files that are associated with browse history. It is recommended to leave this option turned on. Typed URL history. Typed URL history is a special history composed by all web site addresses that you typed directly in the address bar of the Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer and Run dialog. Turning on this option cleans the typed URL history when a cleaning occurs. It is recommended to leave this option turned on.

Cleans some Index.dat files (these related to history and cookies) - How can I turn on the cleaning of INDEX.DAT files? There is no specific option for the cleaning of the index.dat files in the What to clean? settings window because there are few different types of index.dat files that are associated with specific tracks. There is a simple rule of thumb however: if the first 2 settings (Cookies, and Browse history records) in the Internet Explorer tab of What to clean? window are turned on, then the corresponding index.dat files will be cleaned. These settings are turned on by default. NOTE: Mil Free Internet Eraser DOES NOT clean all kinds of index.dat files.
